Halloween is fast approaching. After the candy festival ends, we sail straight into a string of parties, dinners, and endless special dishes and cocktails. How do you not gain weight over the holidays? Instead of giving you a diet tip, how about I share my approach to the holidays this season.
I have never been a fan of New Years Resolutions. They set people up for failure. I believe any day is a good day to try something or set a goal. Therefore, I choose to conquer a fear over the holiday season. Fear of what? Pushing myself to my limits. I will exercise, but establishing a routine proves difficult with my schedule. It does not bother me that I do not have a set exercise routine though. I am happy. This is not about weight loss. This is about health. This goal will push me physically and emotionally. I will have to make choices everyday to stick with this goal. I may have to rethink a cocktail if it means skipping a workout the next day. I may miss sleeping in if time is short the rest of the day. I do not think it will be perfect, but if I push through I believe I will feel proud to conquer my fear of physically pushing myself and seeing how far I can go. With 59 more days of this program, I will just about make it to Christmas. Don’t delay your goals.
Anyone else up for conquering a fear this holiday?
